We went down to Echo Lake with Marty's family all last week. We all had a great time. We spent lots of time hanging out in the sun, boating, eating, playing games, and just relaxing. The boys were sad to come home.

Davis has not had much experience around boats (Last year it took a whole lot of convicing just to get him to ride the tube). So we were pretty surprised when he said he wanted to try knee-boarding. For his first time he did pretty well.

This is Davis's second time around for soccer and he has really enjoyed it. This year they got to play half the year indoor and half outdoor. He especially liked it becuase he and his cousin Jack played on the same team.

He is quite a good little soccer player. Although he ocassionally gets a little distracted (His Dad is a little competitive and sometimes get on his case a little more than he should).

These are some pictures of his last game. He was actually quite aggressive and played his best game of the year (He scored 3 goals!). I almost shed a tear.

Davis has been taking some testosterone injections. It has had some unfortunate side effects.

My last post was Christmas - I'm a pretty pathetic blogger. Much has happened since then. I'll see what I can remember:

1. Phoenix is now 5 months. He is a wonderful little boy. He smiles tons and is a great sleeper.
2. We moved. As many of you know my grandpa passed away a little while back. I have been helping with some renovations on his house with the intent of trying to rent out his house. But we kind of spur of the moment decided to move in ourselves. We are loving the room, but not loving the endless amount of upkeep and yard work quite so much.
3. Davis turned 5 years old. It's crazy how fast they grow up.
4. I am officially a poor student again. I have left mortgage brokering completely so I can concentrate on getting my MBA.
5. And a bunch of other junk I can't remember....Here's some pictures:

I may be a little biased, but we have three of the best looking boys on the planet. I absolutely hate cats. But since we now basically live on a farm we decided we would get a couple of cats to try and keep the mice out of the house. Davis and Marcus really enjoy them (Although Marcus is a little rough with them - He often tries to pick them up by the tail).

Traditionally on Christmas Eve we have a little family talent show. But for the past few years all the kids have gotten too old and are not really into it. This year Geoff & Nicki's daughter Kaiya sang a song, and so Davis figured he should as well. The problem was he did not have anything prepared, so he decided to just make up a Christmas song on the spot.

We are loving having Phoenix as a part of our family. It is always an adjustment having a new born in the house again, as you forget how helpess they are (and what a luxury sleep can be). But Phoneix is quite a good baby. He doesn't cry tons and sleeps pretty well. Davis and Marcus love to give their baby brother kisses.

Davis & Marcus while somewhat oblivious still really like their baby brother. Davis lies to talk and sing to Phoenix. Marcus likes to tell Phoenix that it's "OK" whenever he cries.

We currently have Phoenix and Marcus sleeping in the same room. Marcus gets quiet disgusted when Phoenix wakes up in the middle of the night crying. He will make irritated noises, cover his ears and sometimes hit the side of his bed. It's pretty funny.

When Phoenix first popped out he decided not to breath for awhile (which obviously is a little freaky for a parent). But once they got him breathing he decided to make u for lost time by screaming like a banshee Hopefully that is not a sign of things to come.

Davis was super excited to have a new baby brother. He said "I am going to be so nice to this baby. I'm going to play with him all the time." He wasn't even too disappointed since he was really hoping for a girl. Marcus didn't seem to impressed by the whole thing.

We celebrated Marcus's 2nd birthday this weekend. He was somewhat oblivious to the festivities but it was nice to have lots of family around to help us celebrate (Despite my complaining). Marty made tons of delicious food, as well as a cool looking crocodile out of cupcakes. It was a good time.

I am trying to brainwash my kids into liking sports as much as possible.
Davis started indoor soccer this year. He looks forward to going all week. And I might be a little biased, but he is pretty good. He is one of the few kids that actually able to stay somewhat focused the whole time. He has even scored a couple of goals (Although one of them was on his own teams net).

Our Trip to The Big Apple

Marty & I just returned from a 6 day trip to New York City. We left the kids at home and had a great time.

We went to the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Plaza, Times Square, Ground Zero, Coney Island, Grand Central Station, The Statue of Liberty, and even took a carriage ride through Central Park. We also saw The Lion King, Stomp and a Yankees game. And of course ate lots and lots of good food.

We have to give a HUGE THANKS to Mandy for coming and watching our kids while were gone, and my Mom as well for helping out a ton.

Of course there we times we missed our kids but it was really great to spend time together just us two.

One of Marty's friends was getting married and they asked Davis & Marcus to be ring bearers (and can you guess who got asked to MC?) . They wore matching pink shirt and black pants (The looked very handsome!). They were both supposed to walk up the aisle together carrying the ring pillow. Marcus made it about 10 steps and turned back. But Davis went all the way up, and stood relatively still during the whole ceremony. We were very proud of him.

We had a microchip put in Davis's brain. So now when ever he does something we don't like we just push a button and falls to the ground writhing in paid. Quite an effective behaviorial modification too

The last snow fall of the year Davis, Marcus & I built a snowman. Well actually, Davis & Marcus helped for about 10 minutes until they got cold and bored and left Dad to finish it by himself. After Davis went back inside he would stick his head out the door and yell "Dad how is our snowman coming?"

This last Saturday we went with my parents to the Calgary Zoo. Davis just loved seeing all the animals. When we first got there he would look at one animal really quick and then say to me "Dad let's go look at some more animals." But by the end of the day (4 hours of walking) we were all pretty beat.

After the Zoo we went to the mall. Davis, Marcus and I were hanging out in the play area. Davis befriended this little girl.

They were walking around holding hands together. Davis would jump up on the motorbike, then lean back and pat the passenger seat for her to jump on.

Snowmobiling February 22-24, 2007

This last weekend some of the boys went down to Montana to do some snowmobiling. We ate lots of food, played video games, watched movies & UFC and spent lots of time speeding around the mountain.

One night we were sitting in the hot tub and someone dared someone else to hop out of the hot tub and jump on a snowmobile and see if they could get going 60mph. Well if someone dares you to do something on the man trip you don't say no. So the next thing we knew we were taking turns cruising around the lake with no clothes on (except for our shorts - Truth be told Trevor went shortless. His skin stuck to a piece of metal and we had to pour hot water to get him loose).

We all had a good time and no one was seriously injured (One person crashed one of the snowmobiles, but they will remain nameless).
